Intrauterine Devices (IUDs)

IUDs are very effective long-term reversible birth control options, that can last from 5 to 10 years.


They are small T-shaped devices that a healthcare professional inserts into the uterus.


IUDs can be either copper (non-hormonal), or progestin-containing (hormonal).

Contraceptive Implant

The contraceptive implant is a very effective long-term reversible birth control option that lasts for 3 years.


It is a small flexible rod that a health-care professional inserts just under the skin in your upper arm.


It works by releasing a low dose of progestin hormone into the bloodstream.

Pap Tests

Pap tests are one screening tests for cervical cancer.


Cervical cancer screening is  recommended for anyone with a cervix aged 25-69 who has ever been sexually active. This includes women and transgender people.

Skin excisions and biopsies

Excision (removal) of skin lesions, tags, cysts, and moles.


These may be covered by Health Insurance BC if medically necessary (such as a biopsy), or may be private pay for cosmetic / benign reasons (such as an annoying cyst).


Please note that we are not dermatology (skin) specialists - our service is practical / procedural.  If you are looking for a specialist opinion or diagnosis of a skin concern, please ask for a referral to a dermatologist from your family doctor.

Ingrowing Toenail Removal

Skin excisions and biopsies

Surgical resection of an ingrowing toenail is one treatment option for this condition.


Not all ingrowing toenails require surgical resection, but if your doctor feels this is indicated, they can refer you and we will be happy to perform this procedure for you.
